Red Button

This is a trackpoint button found on IBM ThinkPad. I don’t really know why they don’t follow general rule in making touchpad for mouse replacement, instead they made this tiny button that supposedly movable like a stick to get your cursor moving. Mouse click was done by another buttons found under the keyboard. Even though the trackpoint itself is great but I think that buttons position which is right below the trackpoint makes people have to fold their thumb under their index finger to access it. This is a bad practice and very inconvenient. Luckily I bough a portable mouse, so I don’t need to use it often.

This morning I managed to stop a bread seller. Usually they already past my house before I could shout them to stop. I bought a raisin white bread for a breakfast today. I think the price tag is rising sharply since the last time I bought it last year but why the government said that we have very low inflation last year?

• Never pity yourself because problems and challenges are there to make us stronger

Sometimes.. life does not move like the way we would like it to be.. But often.. it turns out to be one of the best thing ever happened to us. Sure it is bitter as a medical pill, but it makes us healthier, stronger and hell yeah, rock and roll!

For example.. i was soooooo sad when at first i apply for an exchange program to one of the university in Japan, and i didnt get it at my first shot (and if some of you wondering did i ever cry? Yes i did!!!! A bunch of tissue roll as a victim of my tearburst!!) Then.. i tried again for the second available options, and it turns out… become a student there was one of the best year in my life! Perhaps, if i got into the first option as i want before, i wouldnt have the craziest and the most unforgettable moments i ever had in Tohoku university!

If i got accepted at the other program, i wouldnt have learned how much i love running, midnight walking, karaoke (who thought doing the barbie doll song – “im a barbie girl, in a barbie world.. ” with my guy friend doing the barbie’s voice and me doing the Ken’s voice will be soo much fun), biking, travelling & backpacking, cooking (Yeah!!! though for some of u its hard to believe, i did cook though :p ), and some stuffs that i wouldnt imagine i ever experienced!!

I joined a hip-hop dance club, doing archery, watch horror movies every single nite (i was forced actually, to open my eyes and witnessed some of the scariest moment of horrors by Sadako, One missed call and many more!! Literally!! i was forced!! and as such.. quite immune with horror afterward), being chased by hornets in a remote area while mountain hiking (in a seem abandoned village that just perfectly depicted a horror movie!! and we also ended up in a used-to-be a sightseeing place with a small fountain and clean blue river but a toilet for visitor is highly invaded by hundreds – yes, im not exaggerating here!! – hundreds of spider and disgusting insects!!). I would not experienced onsen (hotspring – really famous & u should try it at least once if you go ther!!), eating the weirdest seafood ever (sea urchin, starfish), and most importantly… finding some of the true friendships that i am really grateful to ever have, and i wish will last long forever..

All those had make my day a wonderful one there and had.. in many ways.. creates “me”. It changed a whole lots of my point of view.. Things that i thought really matter before (e.g. getting a straight As in my college grade just because it looks nice and i am such a perfectionista), suddenly seems not so important! What is matter.. is not the quantity.. but the quality of time. Lots of the greatest lesson you ever get, is not from the textbook, but actually.. from meeting people.. share their experience and have people that truly respect and love you no matter how weird or silly you are!

Also… as my mom & dad often told me.. Problems, or challenges are there to make us grow and stronger. Without it.. we will never force ourselves to grow, develop and climb higher and higher. Do you think most of the great people in history are those who always have an easy life?? NO!! WRONG !!

Many of them started with a bitter life experience, even since they were a child! You know that the founding father Abraham Lincoln used to be a veryyy pooor child? Do you know that Obama’s parents are separated? Problems shapening ourselves. Just like a butterfly. When they are still a larva, they fast for a month before they can become a butterfly.

And as such.. we should be grateful if we have a challenge or problem ahead. Coz it means that God still care with us and want us to grow bigger and bigger Be a climber! Dont stop and even if you think you are in a misery.. sometimes its not. Sometimes.. it meant to be that way, coz only God knows what best for us.

• Always grateful for whatever we have!

Its a human nature to always dissatisfied with whatever they have and always looking forward to have more and more. But even so.. more is never enough

However.. we should be grateful with whatever we have, coz actually… often our misery is much smaller than others! And yet.. if they still can smile to the world, there is no excuse that we cant do the same things too.

Thats y, i wanna go to Cambodia sometimes.. because.. i heard from one of the world’s traveller (my friend’s husband) that there.. he saw several half blind guy with only one leg at street but still smile and looks happy no matter how poor he is. I want to learn from that country.. of how to be grateful. Coz actually, every single second that we breath, is a gift from God.

Coz Life itself is the greatest gift of all.

• Pay it forward & share with others

Do you know the movie Pay it forward? its an old movie where a boy dream of how to make the world a better place. And then, he came up with the idea to help 3 people – none of them he really knew – , to get happiness.

In the end… he did helped them get their happiness, and there is no bigger happiness than the feeling that you can help other. Though how small it it.. Indeed.. this is true. I feel most happy when i can help someone.

In addition.. i remember one most memorable quote from my Korea-American friend. He said : “There is no success unless you help others surround you. And there shouldnt be any reason for not helping others, nor delay helping them. If you dont have money, help them by using your muscle! Dont wait till you get rich before you help others, coz trust me.. you will never feel rich enough! Help them whenever possible!”

• Though the pit bulls barking and blocking your way, you have to move fast… with your ferrari!

There is a saying in Bahasa : Anjing menggonggong, kafilah berlalu (dogs barking, people continue going). It means that.. sometimes (or perhaps always), there are people who will not happy with what we achieve or get (i definitely pity them.. and i pray that i wont be that low). They will saying bad stuffs or demotivate you. However though.. you shouldnt listen to them and continue going. Move on!

just leave them and drive ur ferrari fast!

I modify that phrase a little. Though pit bulls barking, i will continue moving with my Ferrari! Dont listen to bad stuffs! stay positive and keep going my friend

Just like what the uncle of Peter Parker (thats the name, i guess.. ), with a great power, comes a great responsibility. And thats actually one of my motivation in life. Everything i did.. should not be for myself.. but for others. My achievement, or my position, or my success is not for me.. but it should be leveraged to help others. Thats y.. whenever i feel down, i told myself to keep going! keep climbing.. coz you should! Coz you can help more people if you are influential! Coz you can help more people if you are richer!

with great power, comes great responsibility

Thats y i admire Muhammad Yunus alot.. , because with his idea of Grameen Bank, many people are now being lifted from poverty. and i admire Greg Mortenson too! He builds school for girls in the world’s most remote area in Pakistan & Afghanistan mountains And i love Gandhi! For his admirable love on people & peace:)

PS : Hehe.. To be honest.. it tooks me times to think whether or not i write something like this. I am not a so-extrovert person. In fact, im quite reserved and introvert. However.. one of my resolution this year is to be more honest and warm to people.. and one way to achieve it is by writing what i really think. and share what i really feel Hehe.. Oya, ngomong-ngomong tentang SD Card, SD Card merupakan kepanjangan dari Secure Digital Card. Kata Secure dalam kepanjang SD Card berasal dari kemampuan kartu memory tersebut yang telah memiliki fitur Content Protection for Recordable Media(CPRM). CPRM ini berfungsi untuk mencegah pembajakan media. Selain itu kata secure tersebut juga disebabkan karena memory jenis ini memiliki fitur Write-Protect tab yang bisa mencegah penghapusan isi memory secara tidak sengaja.  SD Card dalam perkembangannya memiliki tiga buah varian sebagai berikut :

• SD memory card.
  SD Memory card merupakan jenis kartu memory yang paling populer dan memiliki kapasitas bervariasi mulai dari kapasitas 8 MB hingga yang tertinggi kapasitas 4 GB. Format SD memory card ini adalah FAT16 dan memiliki ukuran 24 x 34 mm serta ketebalan 2 mm. Memory jenis ini hanya bisa digunakan pada slot SD Card kecuali ditambah mediation device terlebih dahulu.
• MiniSD dan MicroSD memory card.
  Sesuai dengan namanya, memory jenis ini berukuran kecil dan biasanya digunakan untuk ponsel atau MP3 player. Untuk jenis MiniSD memiliki ukuran 20 x 21,5 mm dan untuk jenis microSD memiliki ukuran ukuran 11 x 15 mm.
• SDHC memory card.
  SDHC merupakan singkatan dari Secure Digital High Capacity. Memory jenis ini adalah pengembangan selanjutnya dari SD card tanpa mengubah bentuk dan desain dari SD Card. Meskipun ukuran dan bentuknya sama namun kecepatan dan kinerja SDHC berbeda jauh dari SD Card. Format yang dipakai SDHC bukan lagi format FAT16 tetapi menggunakan format FAT32. Kapasitasnya pun juga lebih besar dimana kapasitasnya mulai dari 4 GB hingga 32 GB. Device apapun yang mendukung SDHC maka akan juga kompatibel dengan memori SD biasa.   Class 2: memiliki kecepatan write minimal 2 MB/s

  Dalam membeli SDHC Card, selain kapasitas, maka SD Speed Class ini perlu diperhatikan berkaitan dengan device yang dipakai karena kadang ada beberapa device yang hanya bisa menggunakan kelas tertentu sebagai syarat dapat digunakannya. Biasanya device untuk merekam video dan beberapa DSLR mensyaratkan SD Speed Class tinggi supaya menghasilkan resolusi tinggi

10. Crazy about movies

Yes.. Men loves watching movies! Especially those with actions involving kicking some ass, punching & shooting stuffs around (no wonder that war movies, 300 and most of Quentin Tarantino’s films are creating million bucks and very popular amongst guys). Add some shed of blood there, and voila! Men are starring non-stop on the screen and got so excited like a little puppy when seeing a piece of meat.

Also.. they love to watch funny comedy! Even remember its funny quotes and mimic some of the famous dialogue. How many of your guy friend ever parodying Samuel L Jackson quotes from Snakes in a plane ? (“Enough is Enough! I hate this motherf**kin snake in this motherf**kin plane!”).

However though.. (Remember this carefully!!), men got soo allergic towards sappy romantic drama (well.. at least 90% of them). So.. NEVER EVER BRING UR DATE TO WATCH SAPPY ROMANTIC MOVIE ON YOUR FIRST DATE!!!! You want to know the reasons why?? Well.. lets face it. Sappy romantic comedy is BORING! PREDICTABLE, and unrealistic in many ways..

So, if you wanna know whether a guy interested or not to you girl, ask them to watch a romantic drama. If they say yes..then u can be quite certain that they are into you. They wouldnt want to suffer a sappy drama unless they have a different agenda:)

9. football

Either watching it, or doing it, most of guys love football. Perhaps for girls this is quite funny as we often did not get what is the excitement on 22 guys (10 player and 1 goalkeeper for each team) chasing over 1 single ball and try to score at opponent’s net in a 90 minutes match.

However though, actually myself is a big fans of AC Milan and Liverpool (well.. of course still weighting more on Milan) and from my own amusement over football is the uncertainty of win or lose on each match. No matter how great the players you have, sometimes if they f**ked up, they just screw the whole things and u will lose. The strategy plays a great deal in football, and the teamwork is even greater. Also.. its always awesome to see some great players (like Christiano Ronaldo or Kaka) do their techy cool stuffs and suppeeerrrr accurate shoot.

8. Obsessed about Six packs

Just like girls obsessed of having a super thin sliced body, men also obsessed with having a nice six packs abs. They know girl loves it (just admit it girls.. Who doesnt?? :p ) and its also a great pride over other guys if they have a nicer muscle. Thats y, they want and highly determine to spend hours in a gym doing a cardio training and weightlifting

7. Foods

Men loves foods and most of them eats a lot!! Burgers, Pizzas, chocolates. Just name it! As long as its not 100% grass, they will eat it :p My classmates in highschool even loves to make a junk pile or a volcano of rice in their plates and compete with others to each as much as they can.

Thats why, there is a saying that if you want to tame a guy’s heart, do it with his stomach! Cook for them!

6. Games & Fantasy sports

Not only crazy about real sports, men loves to hang out and do fantasy sports (well.. they definitely practice the muscle of their fingers and eyes though.. but not much of other body parts as i know of.. ) by playing games. Either Wii (well.. this one you can say it burns some callories), PS3, Nintendo DSP, XBOX or arcade games, they’re loving it! They can stay the whole night non-stop just to play COD (Call of Duty), FIFA 09, Bleach, Gear of War or Ragnarok online & Warcraft.

5. Music

Drolling over an i-pod, listening to mp3 songs, sings a song (Though some of them singing it in an soooo out of pitch and make his surrounding suffer over a high-noise environment), and play a music instrument (or even in a band) is a normal or perhaps daily routine for almost every guy i know. Music is their soul!

4. Girls

So sorry to reveal this news to you girl.. but.. yes.. often we will not ranked 1st in things that guy likes!! ) So, you may wonder what are the items that we must compete with for their attention?? Here it goes!! :p

3. Cars

A nice red ferrari is super sexy for them! or.. a tough looking Harley Davidson. Cars or motors is their soulmate. Often, they even tends to be more loyal to their cars rather than a girl! And has more patience to handle them. )

I agree that cars or motors are really beautiful & sexy. Sometimes even really creative and the design is just genius. But what is really make them love those stuff a lot? I am not so sure.. but probably.. the engine sounds and the high speed that car offer is creating an adrenaline rush that are exciting for them. Also.. men loves to be in control (who doesnt anyway??), and cars are much easy to control than anything else! I mean.. just put the gas on, shift the gear and hit the road! As simple as that.

Also.. it can be modified to match with the owner’s personality.Put some Nox tube, do lil modification, put a wide bumper, install a loud banging subwoofer and paint it with a certain design, and surely whoever ride that sexy car will got attention from other road user! And.. guys love it )

2. Gadgets

Most guy are techy savvy and loves to play with their gadgets. Whether it is an i-pod, blackberry cellphone, laptop, macbook, dslr camera, video cam, etc. . They love to accessorize themselves with those stuffs and got the mosttt update gadgets. Not only that.. they love to explore the features of those items, and guaranteed… many of them has, at least once, strip those items and do some trouble shooting.

1. Competition

Guys love to compete.. in almost every possible ways. Whether in job, money, power, or even silly stuffs like how many sausages they can eat within 10 minutes.. or how loud they can burb, or how goof they can be.They just love to compete. But guess thats what makes life interesting. Win some, lose some.

Sarung tangan merek kettler yang di tunjukkan oleh penjual di Gramedia Plasa Semanggi ada dua jenis yaitu jenis yang pergelangan tangannya agak panjang (sampai di atas pergelangan tangan) dan jenis yang pergelangan tangannya pendek (pas sampai pergelangan tangan). Setelah mencoba keduanya dan merasakan enak dan nyaman mana sewaktu dipakai, kemudian aku memutuskan memilih sarung tangan Kettler jenis yang pergelangan tangannya pendek karena menurutku lebih nyaman dan lebih mudah sewaktu digunakan untuk bergerak. Untuk harga, kedua jenis tersebut tidak jauh berbeda. Sarung tangan yang pergelangan tangannya panjang memang lebih mahal sedikit dibandingkan dengan yang pergelangan tangannya pendek. Well, semoga dengan sarung tangan tersebut aku bisa melakukan repetisi dan set yang lebih banyak lagi sewaktu exercise dengan aman dan tanpa kapalan. Oya, istilah repetisi atau reps adalah satuan utk pengulangan dari satu exercise sedangkan Set adalah kumpulan dari beberapa repetisi.

For me, as a field engineer, surrounded by a deep blue ocean in offshore rigs provide opportunity to enjoy a silent night, literally. A full moon accompanied by thousands bright stars scattered in the black sky, and other rigs or barges light sparklings from far, creates an image of fireflies coloring the darkest line and the elegant movement of ocean waves is what ive seen. All, somehow always create such a perfection timing for thinking about the simplicity of life.. and how actually wonderful life is.

Whenever u flipped through ur past ages.. All that u can remember vividly, is how happy we were.. Whether in ur holiday events, birthday party, or simply daily routine u did together with ur closest companions and friends. Not the saddest moments of our life! Not the sorrow.
